Christmas Village in Philadelphia
LOVE Park, 1500 Arch Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19102
Christmas Village in Philadelphia returns to a newly renovated LOVE Park for its 11th season to put Center City in the mood for the winter holidays. From Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 22, 2018) through Christmas Eve (Monday, December 24, 2018), Philadelphia’s largest holiday attraction will transform LOVE Park for the month into an authentic open-air German Christmas market with holiday sights and sounds featuring thousands of twinkling lights, festive Christmas decorations, live music at the main stage, children’s activities, European foods and drinks and photos with Santa presented by ACME.
Check our event for special announcements, weekday/weekend highlights and programming.
Preview Weekend — Nov 17/18
At the preview weekend visitors will have the chance to experience Christmas Village in Philadelphia a few days early. Once there, they can walk through the authentic German winter wonderland while the market, event producers and its vendors are getting ready for the new season.
1st Weekend – Opening Weekend — Nov 24/25
On Sunday, Nov 25, we will officially kick off 2018’s Christmas Village Season. Once again, we have invited the Original German Christkind from Nuremberg/Germany, accompanied by official (Philadelphia) city representatives, to open our holiday event. Choirs and drumming bands will ensure an authentic and festive atmosphere.
2nd Weekend – Mascot Weekend – Dec 1/2
On our second weekend we will introduce a new weekend program to our visitors: the mascot weekend. Therefore, our very own mascot Phil will invite his mascot friends from “Mascots for a Cure” to fight childhood cancer. Come join us for a parade and dance off with Philly’s favorite mascots.
3rd Weekend – German American Weekend – Dec 8/9
On our third weekend, we will celebrate German American Heritage. German American Weekend will feature a variety of German style performances at the main stage and beautiful lantern parade. Visitors will be sure to enjoy an authentic German experience with delicious German foods and beverages from the German Grill.
4th Weekend – Charity Weekend – Dec 15/16
The fourth weekend is once again focusing on the giving spirit that comes along with Christmas time. For our Charity Weekend, we will cooperate with Make a Wish again. All month long, our visitors will have the chance to donate by buying a hanger for our Wish Wall, which can be purchased at the events info-booth. After writing their personal wish on it, people can hang it up on our Wish Wall for everyone to be seen. Don’t forget to purchase one of our Make a Wish balloons to send your wishes on a journey or to try a piece of the delicious Make a Wish cake which helps support a good cause.
5th Weekend – Last Minute Shopping Weekend – Dec 22/23
The fifth weekend is the last opportunity for last-minute gift shopping, delicious treats, and one last mulled wine.
